Maya Jama was forced to skip the BAFTA TV Awards on Sunday as she had been vomiting "all day".

The Celebrity Juice star was due to present an award at the annual prizegiving ceremony, but on Sunday, she told her Instagram followers that she had to cancel her appearance as she was too sick.

In a statement posted on her Instagram Stories, the 26-year-old explained that she was suffering from food poisoning.

"So saddddd I won't be at the BAFTAs today (sic). I ate that posh raw tuna s**t and have been (vomiting emoji) all day (face palm emojis)," she wrote.

As well as missing the show, the radio presenter admitted she was also disappointed that she wouldn't be able to rock her dress on the red carpet, and joked that she would have to find another occasion to wear it.

"Was supposed to wear the dress of dreams also," she continued. "I might have to wear it to the shop next week to feel better."

Seven hours after her original post, the TV personality shared a throwback video of her singing at home to Movin' Too Fast by Artful Dodger and wrote in the accompanying caption, "Feel like pure s**t might go back to short hair again."

The BAFTA TV Awards were hosted by Richard Ayoade at London's Television Centre.
