Maya Jama and Clara Amfo are on Channel 4’s wish list for September’s Big Breakfast reboot, according to a report.
The broadcaster is bringing back the Nineties show for one day only as part of Black to Front day, a project where all the channel’s programmes are created and fronted by Black talent.
Comic Mo Gilligan has already been confirmed as the host for the two-hour special, but a source expressed hope that former Radio 1 DJ Jama, and current Radio 1 DJ Amfo, will work alongside The Masked Singer panellist.
“Maya would be the perfect fit to feature on the Big Breakfast reboot and Channel 4 has her firmly in its sights,” a source told The Sun.
“She is on its wish list of black female talent, along with Strictly star and broadcaster Clara Amfo.
“Maya is incredibly busy but Channel 4 is hoping she’ll be able to make room in her diary to be a part of the show, which bosses think is going to be a roaring success when it airs on September 10.”
The BBC is reportedly interested in using Jama during next year’s football World Cup coverage, after her success alongside Peter Crouch on the BBC One series Crouchy’s Year-Late Euros: Live.
Jama is currently on holiday with her boyfriend, Australian NBA star Ben Simmons.
