The new series of Love Island is about to begin, and 29 year old presenter Maya Jama is contemplating her future on the series. Having hosted four seasons in a year, the presenter wants to have more of a say in the show, and has revealed that she would like to be a producer as well as a presenter on the sun drenched dating phenomenon.

Already taking in the scenery at the Love Island villa in Majorca, awaiting this year’s contestants, Maya said to The Sun: “In my mind I am like: what do you do next after TV? I’ll work it out. I feel like I need to set new goals because I have been so fortunate that all my childhood goals have been achieved now before I am thirty. Do I have an input [now]? No, because if I did I would get producer credits.”

“If I could I would but that’s not my job title… yet. I am a fan of the show and have grown up on reality TV so maybe one day, never say never. I am 30 this year and that is another milestone, but focus on your job first then plan the party after!”

Ahead of Love Island’s launch on Monday 3 June, the villa has undergone a transformation in preparation from the new arrivals, with some of the show's classic locations undergoing a makeover. Meanwhile a new 'vibe retreat' has been added for those couples lucky enough to spend a night away from their co-stars.

The 12 contestants have been revealed, and include make up artist Samantha Kenny, recruitment manager Munveer Jural, model Nicole Samuel, footballer Ronnie Vint, influencer Patsy Field, surveyor Ciaran Davies, mental health nurse Mimii Ngulube, hair stylist Sam Taylor, retail manager Jess White, model Ayo Odukoya, dancer Harriet Blackmore, and salesman Sean Stone.

As well as the main series, Aftersun returns to screens every Sunday and will be hosted by Maya alongside panellists Sam Thompson, Indiyah Polack, Amy Hart, Chris Taylor and Jordan Stephens.

Mike Spencer, Creative Director, Lifted Entertainment said: “We are thrilled that Aftersun is back, as the home for all of the exclusive Love Island chat and gossip this summer. We are very excited to have an A-list line up of talent with the brilliant Indiyah and Sam returning alongside Amy, Jordan and Chris all ready to spill the tea alongside the incredible Maya Jama. This summer really will be one to remember!”
