Max George shares major health update from hospital bed on surgery
Max George has told his fans he will "100 per cent have to undergo surgery" after his terrifying hospital dash this week due to heart issues. Earlier this week, the singer told fans he was taken to hospital, and told he had some issues with his heart. The star also revealed he may be spending Christmas in hospital.
As he keeps fans updated on his condition, the 36-year-old issued a major update via his Instagram stories on Saturday night. Talking to the camera, Max revealed that he has a problem with the "lower part of his heart" and is suffering with a "really low heart rate".
"So latest is that 100 per cent I'm going to have a little friend put in here at some point," the star said, as he pointed to his heart. I've got an issue with the bottom part of my heart, it's called a block," he continued to explain.

Max then went on to explain that they still aren't sure on what caused the problem, however, they've cancelled out a few things. "We've cancelled out a few things, like alcohol for example, I've not had a drink in four-and-a-half years. So it's not that," he said. "It's a bit of a mystery really, the hard bit is the waiting."
At this point in time, Max isn't sure what the surgery will entail. "Obviously my heart rate is really really low which they're monitoring 24/7. They've been amazing," he said before admitting that the waiting has proven to be "really tough."
"It's just one of those things unfortunately, whatever I get, I've just got to get one with it," the star bravely said. "We're hoping pacemaker, pacemaker's good, we can do pretty good with that."
On Thursday, Max took to Instagram to share his health worries with fans as he posted a picture smiling from his hospital bed, as he praised his friends, family and partner Maisie Smith.
“Hey everyone, Yesterday I felt really unwell and was taken in to hospital. Unfortunately after some tests they’ve found that I have some issues with my heart. I have a lot more tests to determine the extent of the problems and what surgery I will need to get me back on my feet,” he wrote.
“It’s gonna be a difficult few weeks / months… and Christmas in a hospital bed wasn’t exactly what I had planned! But, as always, I’m surrounded with love and support by my wonderful partner Maisie, her family, my family and friends.. and I’m 100% in the best place.
“Although this is a huge shock and no doubt a set back, it’s something I’ll take on with all I’ve got! I count myself very lucky that this was caught when it was."
Concluding, Max wrote: “Apologies if I bore you with updates in the coming weeks..I’ve probably got a month in a bed and there’s not THAT much to do! Let’s do this!," he added. "Much love, Max x.”
