TV presenter Amar Latif impressed Celebrity MasterChef viewers in his first appearance on the show last night (15 July) with his delicious dishes and inspirational attitude.
Amar is the show's first blind contestant, having lost his sight at 18 due to a genetic condition, and is joined by a sighted guide to ensure he's safe in the MasterChef kitchen.
He previously appeared on This Morning, explaining that he doesn't have extra time to create his dishes on the programme.
"Initially I thought: 'This is terrible, I can't see. Come on, guys, give me a break', but then I thought that I want the competition to be fair," he said.
"What's the point getting extra time and treatment?"
In his first challenge, Amar cooked off against the likes of Jeff Brazier and Gethin Jones, earning the praise of judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace for his chicken and spaghetti dish. In the professional kitchen challenge, Amar rose to the occasion and fans were pleased to see he was being properly supported, with clear direction from the pro chef and extra tools to help him find the pans he needed.
Ultimately, Amar sailed through to the next stage.
And it wasn't just the judges who were impressed, viewers of the show took to social media to praise Amar for his inspiring, can-do attitude.
Celebrity MasterChef airs on BBC One.
