Jennifer Coolidge made Mike White cry with acceptance speech
Coolidge left ‘The White Lotus’ creator Mike White in tears as she thanked him for trusting her with the role of troubled Tanya McQuoid in his black comedy anthology series. Accepting the award for Best Supporting Actress – Television Limited Series/ Motion Picture, she said: "I had such big dreams and expectations as a younger person, but what happened is they get sort of fizzled by life. I thought I was going to be queen of Monaco even though someone else did it. “And then you get older and think, ‘Oh, what is going to happen? And, Mike white, you have given me hope. Angela Bassett paid tribute to late Chadwick Boseman
The ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ was named Best Actress in a Supporting Role in Any Motion Picture for her performance as Queen Ramonda in the 2022 superhero flick. Angela - who made Marvel history as she became the first woman to win an acting award for a superhero film - paid tribute to her late co-star Chadwick Boseman - who died of cancer in 2020 – in her acceptance speech. She said: "We embarked on this journey together with love. We mourned, we loved, we healed. We were surrounded each and every day by the light and the spirit of Chadwick Boseman. "We have joy in knowing that with this historic 'Black Panther' series, it is a part of his legacy that he helped to lead us. We showed the world what black unity, leadership and love looks like, behind and in front of the camera. Quinta Brunson says "hi" to Brad Pitt
Quinta Brunson looked fierce as she accepted the Best Actress in a Television Series - Musical or Comedy for 'Abbott Elementary'. Refusing to downplay her success, Quinta stood with her head held high as she made her acceptance speech. Brunson had to pull it together after she became distracted on stage and stopped midway through her speech to say “hi” to Brad Pitt after spotting him in the audience and then started getting text messages from her excited family. She said: "I have to say thank you to Justin Halpern and Patrick Schumacher, my co-producers who are just incredible and support my vision. It’s just worth everything to be able to have two people support you... “Oh my god, my family is texting me right now. "My husband, my wonderful, wonderful cast I love you guys so much... I’m just so happy to be here with you all. I feel like I’m missing someone, but I think I got it all my agents, my team, I love you so much. And my manager, thank you, I appreciate it. The 'Elvis' actor channelled the King of Rock and Roll has he accepted the accolade for Best Actor in a Motion Picture speaking in a Memphis drawl. He said: “Oh, man, all my words are leaving me. I just am so grateful right now. I’m in this room full of my heroes. “I owe this to a bold, visionary filmmaker who allowed me the experience to take risks and I always knew I would be supported. I love you, Baz Luhrmann. “Thank you for believing in me in those moments that I didn’t even believe in myself. I’m so grateful to you. I also want to thank my dance partner, the greatest dance partner I could have ever hoped for, Mr. Tom Hanks." Austin paid tribute to the king himself. The Irish actor was on stage accepting his award for Best Actor in a Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy for his role as Pádraic Súilleabháin in 'The Banshees of Inisherin' when he was interrupted by a piano urging him to wrap up his speech. Refusing to be played off stage, Colin continued and paid tribute to his co-stars, starting with Brendan Gleeson. He said: "You can forget that piano! "I love you so much. [Brendan] I love you so much. To get to cohabitate this crazy space with you every day. All I did when I came to work every day was to be your equal. Julia Garner hails Ozark role as greatest gift of her life
The 28-year-old actress landed her big break playing foul-mouthed trailer park girl Ruth Langmore in Netflix crime drama ‘Ozark’. Her performance had earned her an Emmy for Best Supporting Actress at the 2022 Awards, as well as other accolades, and she was thrilled to be recognised for her performance in Season 4 with the Best Supporting Actress – Television Series Golden Globe. In her acceptance speech, she said: "I'm so grateful to be here with all of you. Playing Ruth for the last few years has just been the greatest gift in my life.” In addition to thanking her co-stars Jason Bateman and Laura Linney she also thanked the crew as well as her husband, musician Mark Foster, for their “unconditional love". She added: "I want to say thank you to my team who's been with me for years. "My husband Mark, I love you. Steven Speilberg named Best Director for The Fabelmans
The 76-year old filmmaker took home the prize for Best Director – Motion Picture for his coming-of-age drama 'The Fabelmans’ beating James Cameron ('Avatar: The Way of Water'), Daniel Scheinert and Daniel Kwan ('Everything Everywhere All at Once'), Baz Luhrmann ('Elvis') and Martin McDonagh ('The Banshees of Inisherin') to the accolade. Spielberg was ecstatic with his triumph as the semi-autobiographical tale is inspired by his own childhood. He said: “I’m really, really happy about this. "I’ve been hiding from this story since I was 17 years old. I put a lot of things in my way of this story. “I told this story in parts and parcels all through my career. ‘E.T.’ has a lot to do with this story. ‘Close Encounters...’ has a lot to do with this story. But I never had the courage to hit this story head-on until Tony Kushner [and I] were working on ‘Munich’ a long time ago, [and he] started telling me about all these stories about [his] life. "And we started a conversation. Evan Peters took home the prize for Best Actor in a Limited Series, Anthology Series or Motion Picture Made for Television for his portrayal of twisted killer Jeffrey Dahmer in the Netflix series 'Dahmer – Monster', and admitted in his acceptance speech that he hoped "some good came out" of telling the disturbing story. "Most importantly, I want to thank everyone out there who watched this show. Amongst the prestigious winners on the night, there's no doubt that Margot was the winner in the red carpet fashion stakes. The 'Babylon' star wore a pale pink Chantilly lace and silk tulle gown from Chanel that took 750 hours to make! The gown featured 30,000 elements of embroidery, including feathers, sequins and beads.
