Martin Lewis is not a fan of Everything Everywhere All At Once

Martin Lewis does not understand the hype around the newest best picture Oscar winner Everything Everywhere All At Once.

The genre-defying film stars Michelle Yeoh, Jamie Lee Curtis and Ke Huy Quan and picked up seven awards during Sunday's ceremony.

But broadcaster and money saving expert Lewis confessed to not being a fan: "Anyone else watched Everything Everywhere Etc and struggling to understand stand why it won so many Oscars. I watched it and thought it was fine, but nothing extraordinary. Am I missing something?"

After gathering a number of responses both agreeing and disagreeing with him, Lewis added: "Thanks for all the interesting replies, both from those who felt as I did and those who took the time to explain why they loved it, the two main reasons being

• The artistry and creativity

• The multiverse as a metaphor for family doing whatever it can whatever the circumstance."

Everything Everywhere All At Once, which is directed by The Daniels, is about a middle-aged Chinese-American lady who runs a laundromat who gets swept up into a parallel universe that threatens to destroy all of time and space.

Yeoh, Curtis and Quan all received Oscars for their work while Stephanie Hsu was also nominated for her performace in the film.

Yeoh became the first Asian woman to ever win Best Actress at the Oscars and only the second woman of colour to take home the award after Halle Berry.

Before Everything Everywhere All At Once, Yeoh was best known for her performances in James Bond film Tomorrow Never Dies, the comedy Crazy Rich Asians and Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon.

She has worked extensively in Hong Kong cinema and is considered one of the greatest action heroes of all time through her work in Yes, Madam, Supercop and Executioners.
