Married at First Sight fans distracted as they're 'convinced' groom was in a 90s boy band

Married at First Sight viewers are 'convinced' one groom is from a 1990s boyband as the second episode of the new series got underway on Tuesday (September 17).

Nathan Campbell, 24, is on the lookout for the perfect bride and is taking part in the E4 show to find his happy ever after.

He is the youngest contestant to appear on the 2024 series of Married At First Sight, but he is not too young to already be thinking of starting a family.

Nathan told Channel 4 he knows exactly what he wants from his future bride, and his perfect match needs to be petite, funny, family-oriented, and someone with traditional family values.

In an introductory video, shared on the MAFS UK Instagram page, Nathan said: "I'd make the perfect partner because I'm chill, easy-going, and a bit of a free spirit.

"I think my parents would love me to be with someone who's really family-orientated, keeps me on my toes a little bit, gets me going in the right direction."

He continued: "The first thing I notice about someone is probably their smile or their eyes. My perfect date is doing something really fun, I like doing something really active, whether it's bowling, golf, or anything like that.

"On my wedding day, I'll be most nervous about if she likes me, or if I stumble on my words."

But as the manufacturing engineer prepared to get hitched, some viewers were instantly left distracted by Nathan.

Taking to X, one MAFS fan asked: "Ding dong - is he from a 90s boyband? #MarriedAtFirstSightUK."

While a second echoed: "This guy Nathan reminds me of that guy from 00s boy band O Town."

A third chimed in: "Nathan just radiates 90's boy band. God bless him for saving our nostalgic souls."

"Probably going to go on how he behaves. #MAFS #MarriedAtFirstSight #MAFSUK #MarriedAtFirstSightUK", added one viewer as another replied: "Ooh little bit of cringe. Bit of a pretty boy I think."

Nathan has been paired with Lacey Martin, but the new couple failed to get off on a romantic foot.

After meeting at the altar, Nathan told his bride she looked "nice", leaving her feeling deflated by his reaction as she would have preferred a "wow".
