Married At First Sight Australia is totally absurd but also totally compelling TV. Arguably far better than the British version, a panel of experts put together couples based on suitability and they make a lifelong commitment to each other at a ceremony overseen by a wedding celebrant (read: it's not legally binding). Following a honeymoon, they attend commitment ceremonies where they get to share how they really feel - and it can be pretty brutal.

After spending much of last year's lockdowns marathon-watching past seasons, we're currently obsessing over season six, which was filmed back in 2019. Like the other seasons, there's the usual chat about 'scientific' matches, but it's not hard to see that a lot of the couples are painfully ill-suited from the start. Which would probably explain why a lot of the Married At First Sight Australia couples are no longer together.

Here's a rundown of the season six pairs and where they're at today (season six spoilers ahead).

Jules Robinson and Cameron Merchant

One of the few Married At First Sight season six couples still married, Jules and Cameron got their happy ever after and welcomed son Oliver Chase last October.

Jessika Power and Mick Gould

It didn't look good for these two when Jessika's pal said she wouldn't like Mick just seconds before she walked down the aisle, while Mick said he was annoyed Jessica was "always on her phone". In one of many outrageous season six moments, Jessica ended up cheating on Mick with Married At First Sight groom Dan Webb.

Melissa Lucarelli and Dino Hira

While Dino appeared to be into their relationship, the same can't be said for Melissa who straight away admitted she didn't have anything in common with her new husband. The couple had an explosive row after Dino secretly recorded Melissa trashing their relationship on the phone to her sister and the couple split during the commitment ceremony.

Ning Surasiang and Mark Scrivens

After initially blowing hot and cold, Ning was the one who was left heartbroken when Mark dumped her during their final vows ceremony. Ning and Mark have both since moved on and are happily dating other people.

Cyrell Jimenez and Nic Jovanovic

After Cyrell's brother awkwardly pulled his brother-in-law aside at their wedding, things did end up improving for the pair and they appeared to get off to a good start on their honeymoon. But it wasn't long before the couple ended up clashing and they went their separate ways before the experiment ended. Cyrell is now dating Love Island Australia's Eden Dally and they welcomed their first child together last year.

Lauren Huntriss and Matthew Bennett

Viewers were certain these two would go the distance after hitting it off at their wedding, but Matt later revealed he wasn't that attracted to Lauren. Sadly, he told the rest of the grooms before he actually told Lauren how he felt. The pair later got into some very public bitching about one another via social media, and Matt revealed he threw his wedding ring into a volcano. He's now loved-up with a new girlfriend.

Sam Ball and Elizabeth Sobinoff

We honestly don't know if there was a more mismatched pair in this season (apart from Ines Basic and Bronson Norrish)? The pair's wedding wasn't, um, terrible but the following day Sam left to attend his ex-girlfriend's funeral so they didn't go on the honeymoon. He later ended up hooking up with Ines.

Martha Kalifatidis and Michael Brunelli

The couple's wedding went without a hitch, and they were clearly into each other right from the start. The pair decided to stay together at the final ceremony and are still an item today.

Ines Basic and Bronson Norrish

Ines and Bronson slept separately on their first night as a married couple which is never a good sign and it continued to go downhill on their honeymoon, Without anything in common they struggled to keep the conversation going and had a huge fight during one of their trips. Unsurprisingly, they ended up splitting.

Jessika Power and Dan Webb

Jessika dumped Mike for Dan, who was initially paired with Tamara Joy. They revealed they were a couple during a commitment ceremony and were allowed to stay on in the experiment together, but the couple didn't last long and they quickly moved on.

Mike Gunner and Heidi Latcham

Viewers thought Mike and Heidi were a solid couple when their chemistry sizzled at the start of their honeymoon, but cracks were clearly on show when Heidi tried to dig a bit deeper. Mike and Heidi ended up moving in together, but split just three weeks later.

Dan Webb and Tamara Joy

Dan and Tamara appeared to be getting on pretty well in the beginning, but obviously not as well as viewers thought as he secretly went on a series of dates with Jessika behind Tamara's back. Unsurprisingly, the pair broke up before the experiment finished and Dan formed a new couple with Jessika.
