Calling all Married At First Sight Australia fans (everyone, then). So far, we've been treated to seven seasons of the dating show where experts match up pairs based on science. Sadly ~but unsurprisingly~ true love is often hard to come by when you meet your partner for the very first time at your wedding. But, every so often, the experts do manage to nail it and the perfect pairs are put together. Though (spoiler!), this isn't exactly the case when it comes to Married At First Sight Australia season five. Here's every couple from that season, and if they're still together today:

Jo McPharlin and Sean Donnelly

Jo and Sean really couldn't have been any more different, and they split early on in the series. Jo was so upset about the pairing, she told the experts: “Why did you set us up? Clearly my instructions were strong. We had a big chat, you know, about what I wanted and then… this is what I got delivered.” After the show finished, Sean was linked to fellow season five contestant Gabrielle Bartlett, but he firmly denied they were anything more than friends.

Melissa Walsh and John Robertson

Melissa and John were one of the few couples that stayed together at the finale, and really did look like they could go the distance. But while Melissa admitted they "felt an immediate connection" and conceded they lived together seamlessly, they broke up not long after the show finished. In March 2018, Melissa confirmed they had split via a statement shared on Instagram. "We have spoken at length about how to make it work and have been spending time with each other to let our relationship unfold but both agree it doesn’t feel like it’s going anywhere," she told her followers while adding they remain good friends. That's something at least.

Dean Wells and Tracey Jewel

Dean and Tracey seemed like a pretty good match with their wedding altar banter and chemistry. But when it came to the end of the experiment, Tracey decided to call things off after discovering Dean had kissed MAFSA co-star Davina Rankin. Though Dean later called the affair "fake", adding to Who.com: "I wasn’t actually asked to do those things, but you’re stuck in a room with producers and camera crews, and they basically don’t leave you alone until you do something interesting." Meanwhile, Tracey ended up revealing her relationship with Sean Thomsen at the end of the show, but they also ended up splitting.

Justin Fischer and Carly Bowyer

It didn't take long before the entrepreneur and marketing manager realised they weren't a good match and called time on their brief partnership. Carly then went on to date her MAFSA co-star Troy Delmege before breaking up nine months later. As for what she's up to now? She recently welcomed a baby with actor Neil Goldsmith.

Davina Rankin and Ryan Gallagher

The couple ended up splitting and drama later ensued when Davina told Ryan she'd kissed MAFSA co-star Dean Wells. "I just felt like an idiot because I didn’t see what was coming," he said of what went down. "I felt like a dipstick on camera. I didn’t feel heartbroken, I just felt like an absolute idiot."

Sarah Roza and Telv Williams

It looked like the experiment had paid off for this pair as they stayed together after the show finished, but eventually ended up calling it quits in March 2019. Following their break up things took a nasty turn and they appeared in court to take out an Apprehended Violence Order which meant they couldn't speak about each other in public.

Charlene Perera and Patrick Miller

Another couple who stayed together following the final ceremony, things were looking pretty peachy for these two. But, as soon as cameras stopped rolling, things went south and Charlene accused Patrick of ghosting her.

Mathew Lockett and Alycia Galbrait

Everyone had high hopes for plumber Mathew and student Alycia because they seemed like they were genuinely into each other, but it later turned out the feeling wasn't mutual and Mathew told Alycia he wasn't into her. After leaving the marriage, a heartbroken Alycia shared, “I don’t know where the Mat that I married went. He disappeared, and it was really, really upsetting for me.” Mat said they didn't have anything in common and they're "very different people". It looks like he later moved on with co-star Charlene.

Sean Thomsen and Blair Rachael

Blair was keen to give their a relationship a go but Sean broke things off during a commitment ceremony and chose to leave. When Blair said she wanted to patch things up, Sean said he couldn't picture them together. What happened next? Sean ended up dating co-star Tracey for five months.
