FAMILIES are being invited to 'make their mark' in Blackburn – by taking part in a two-day pavement artworkshop.

Urban Canvas Pavement Art workshops will take place on King William Street over the bank holidays – Thursday 2 and Friday 3 June 2022 – between 11am and 3pm each day.

Celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in Blackburn town centre by helping to create some amazing giant street works of art themed around the Jubilee.

In 2022, Her Majesty the Queen will become the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee after 70 years of service.

Catherine Price, Blackburn town centre BID Manager, said: “Blackburn BID wanted to host an event that would bring people together in celebration of this once-in-a-lifetime occasion.

“The Pavement Art workshops, jointly funded by Blackburn BID and The Mall, will be an opportunity for people in Blackburn to make their mark as part of this historic event.

"You can meet new people, learn new skills and be part of a fantastic community celebration.

“The workshops are free to take part in, open to everyone and you don’t have to have any artistic ability!”

Urban Art, the award-winning company delivering the workshops, describe pavement art as an activity “designed to involve people in creative play.”

All participants can turn up and take part and materials will be provided.  The artists from Urban Canvas will guide participants in completing the artworks.

Don’t forget to post your photos of your handiwork on social media by tagging Blackburn BID and The Mall Blackburn.
