Mariah Carey had a hilarious response to claims she was feuding with Jay-Z, who runs her record label Roc Nation.

Earlier this week, the rumour mill went into overdrive with reports that Mariah and Jay-Z, real name Shawn Carter, had come to blows. One story suggested a "blazing row" led Mariah to "sensationally quit the rapper’s management company" three years after signing her contract.

"Mariah and Jay had an explosive meeting which did not go well at all," reports said. "She has made it clear she wants nothing more to do with him and has called it quits with Roc Nation.

"She will formally depart in the next few weeks. It is a shame because they had done some great work in the last few years. But this meeting couldn’t have gone much worse."

Mariah has since taken to social media to shut down the reports in the most Mariah way possible, while sharing a clip from their duet 'Heartbreaker'. The 52-year-old insisted there was no explosive argument, before posting a Jay-Z lyric from song 'Izzo (H.O.V.A.)'.

"The only 'explosive' situation I'd ever 'get into' with Hov is a creative tangent, such as our #1 song 'Heartbreaker'!!" Mariah wrote. "To the people who make up these lies I say "Poof! —Vamoose, son of a b****'"

Fans were loving Mariah's clap back, with one commenting, "mic drop" and another adding, "My favourite." Another said, "That’s how you CLEAR rumours."

It's unclear if Mariah is still signed to Roc Nation, but fair play to the singer for her response.
