Now that the final shows have finished for Autumn/Winter 2012, it is time, ladies, to sit back and assess the very best of the new season. We’ve already taken a gander at bags and hats, and it’s not time to look at (arguably) the most exciting accessory of all: SHOES! There were a few distinct styles and trends which emerged on the runway this season; check out our round-up below, as well as some more of our favourite designs in the gallery above.
Marc Jacobs and Stella McCartney Autumn/Winter 2012
From Marc Jacobs chunky Pilgrim-style buckled shoes though to Stella McCartney’s sharp toed take on the trend, buckles were all around. And we likey a LOT.
Paco Rabanne and 3.1 Phillip Lim Autumn/Winter 2012
The super ladylike T-bar was spotted back on the catwalk at 3.1 Phillip Lim in brushed bronze, and at Paco Rabanne, where it was edged up with a super shiny ankle cuff.
Valentino and Chloe Autumn/Winter 2012
Queen Mum heels.
Okay, so perhaps that’s not the most technical term for mid-height heels with an ankle strap, but we love the Queen-Mum-meets-Alexa quality of both these offerings from Chloe and Valentino . So chic, non?
Prada and Balenciaga Autumn/Winter 2012
Cross Over Straps.
From Miuccia Prada’s elegant cross over strap through to Balenciaga’s multi laced design, the foot strap for Autumn /Winter will be skinny and plentiful. You mark our words.
Viviene Westwood and Marni Autumn/Winter 2012
Flatforms for fall.
Yup; they’re still here! Consuelo Castiglioni showcased her contrast toe-cap designs at Marni, and Queen of the flatform, Vivienne Westwood, showed tartan designs at her Autumn/Winter show, proving that the flatform is not set to be merely a fleeting trend.
