Man jailed just days after arrest at popular Dunton car boot sale as cars seized
A man has been jailed within 72-hours of being arrested at a popular car boot sale near Basildon.
Officers responded to reports that items being sold on a stall at Dunton car boot sale on Sunday (September 24) were suspected to be stolen.
Upon arrival, officers investigated the reports and arrested a 48-year-old man from Stanford-le-Hope on suspicion of theft.

Following a search, officers seized three vehicles, £548 in cash and a number of household cleaning supplies.
The 48-year-old was changed with five counts of theft and admitted the offences at Southend Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday (September 26).

He was sentenced to 26 weeks in prison plus an additional 18 weeks to run consecutively for breaching a suspended sentence order.
A 50-year-old woman is due to appear at Southend Magistrate’s Court on October 24 in connection with the offences.
