A Watford man has been jailed after driving while disqualified and serving a suspended sentence for the same thing.
Jay Cardy was sent to prison for a 12 weeks and ordered to pay £154 after sentencing at Medway Magistrates’ Court on January 27.
The sentence includes eight weeks for the most recent offence and four from the suspended sentence.
He admitted driving a Peugeot Partner in Gillingham, Kent, on October 10 last year.
The court said the offence was "so serious" because the 29-year-old had already been given a suspended sentence for driving a Citroen Berlingo in Catherine Street, St Albans, on August 1, 2022, while disqualified.
Cardy, whose address is listed as The Cottages in Aldenham, Watford, was again disqualified from driving for 15 months and 21 days.
He also admitted driving without insurance. A charge of driving without a licence was withdrawn.
