Man chased by police after being spotted on train station carrying a knife

A man was set to appear in court yesterday morning charged with being in possession of a bladed article in a public place.

The man, who has not been named, was chased by plain clothed officers on Blackpool North train station after he tried to run from them when they spotted him with the knife.

However, he was caught, arrested and later charged.

A spokesperson for the police said on Saturday: "Yesterday plain clothed officers from our county lines team arrested a male for possession of a bladed article at Blackpool North train station after he tried to run away from them.

"He's been charged and remained in custody to appear in court this morning."
