The Married At First Sight Australia cast are no strangers to drama, and contestant Jessika Power caused a stir recently when she claimed that her co-stars Cameron Merchant and Jules Robinson actually knew each other before the show.

However, Cam and Jules themselves have now spoken out to set the record straight on the rumours.

Jules and Cameron, who've stayed legally married since the show and welcomed baby Oliver together last October, appeared on UK chat show This Morning where they addressed the claims.

Host Holly Willoughby asked the couple, "[Jessika] seems to keep throwing in those grenades, even after the show. She suggested that you two knew each other before the show had even started filming?"

Jules responded, saying, "Well give me an Oscar, if that's the case! We'd have to be a very good actress and actor," clarifying that she and Cameron didn't know each other before meeting for their wedding.

A spokesperson for the couple had previously told Metro.co.uk, "I can confirm that Cam and Jules had never met before and all contestants genuinely took part in the experiment as strangers." However, this is the first time Cam and Jules have spoken out to address the rumours themselves.

The couple's MAFS co-star Jessika Power originally made the claims based off of Cam and Jules' success as a couple. She told Metro.co.uk, "There’s no way you’re going to meet a complete stranger, do everything that we did, and completely love that person, every aspect."

"They never had one fight, they never had one disagreement, they never had anything. My conspiracy theory is that they were together before the show," she added, before going on to claim that Channel Nine wanted at least one success story on the show, so planted a couple already together.

As well as confirming that they were strangers before meeting on the show, Cam and Jules also revealed that they weren't necessarily each other's type, but that they were open to love - and, hey, it all worked out.

Cam told Phil and Holly, "Looking back, I think we were both very naïve, during the experiment, but also very lucky and we were open to love, and that's exactly what happened."

Meanwhile, Jules added, "We joke and say we weren't what we ordered at all. He looked at me, and he wanted a blonde and fit [girl] and I was this voluptuous red head, and I think once we spoke to each other, as Cam said we were open to it. And when we did our vows, which you didn't see all of on the show, they very much mirrored each other and we thought 'this feels good'. It was vibe at first sight and then turned to love."

So, there you go: one true success story.
