MAFS Australia’s Evelyn and Duncan have confirmed they're in a relationship
After weeks of rumours Married At First Sight Australia contestants Evelyn Ellis and Duncan James have officially confirmed they are in a relationship following their time on the show.
Speaking exclusively to Nine Australia, Evelyn and Duncan revealed they had been getting to know each other as friends after the MAFS Australia experiment ended, with the pair both living in Sydney.
Duncan explained: "We started hanging out a little bit after the show. Everyone's sort of friends in the cast, and obviously me and you living in Sydney we probably hung out a little bit more.
"All of a sudden we went out on a couple of nights, and some of the warm fuzzy feelings happened in my stomach and I thought, 'What's this? How we going here?' Then... one thing led to another."
Evelyn went onto confirm their relationship, saying the interview was their "hard launch".
"This is Evelyn and Duncan's hard launch. It feels good to finally just say it, and it feels kind of exhilarating in a weird, freeing way," she said.
As to the other brides and grooms in the experiment? Evelyn said the pair had been welcome as a couple in "the most positive way" and Duncan and Evelyn had spoken to Rupert, Evelyn's ex, who was "very supportive."
They revealed they've gone on a number of dates since the experiment ended including one secluded beach date, and are looking forward to being able to date more publicly now the news of their relationship is out.
27-year-old model Evelyn and 36-year-old cyber security director Duncan were stars of the tenth season of MAFS Australia.
Evelyn, a late addition to the series, was married to Rupert Budgen and Duncan tied the knot with Alyssa Barmonde.
But, both contestants broke up with their respective partners in the season finale which recently aired in the UK.
Duncan and Evelyn then sparked dating rumours after being spotted dancing at a club together in Sydney, Australia – and Duncan was shirtless, BTW!
The couple were also reportedly seen getting cosy at a party in February and it got everyone talking.
And back in April Evelyn said she and Duncan are “just friends” to Daily Mail Australia, and had enjoyed a fun night out together.
However, we now know the couple are together and we could honestly not be happier for them.
Cosmopolitan UK has reached out to Duncan and Evelyn for comment.
