Madonna has confirmed she will kick off her greatest hits tour in London this October following a health scare.

The Queen of Pop, 65, will perform six dates at the O2 Arena as part of Madonna: The Celebration Tour.

The tour was due to start in Canada in July, but was delayed after the singer was admitted to intensive care in June with a bacterial infection.

With the star now recovering, the London shows can go ahead this year as planned, although several gigs in North America have been delayed or scrapped.

Here is everything you need to know about Madonna's much-anticipated return to the British stage.

Madonna's setlist has yet to be confirmed, but she is expected to perform some of biggest hits from her extensive career.

The Vogue singer, who has 13 UK number one singles, said she was "excited to explore as many songs as possible".

The long-awaited tour was thrown into doubt in June after Madonna was rushed to intensive care with a "serious bacterial infection".

Last month, said told fans she was "lucky to be alive" after the health scare, adding: "Love from family and friends is the best medicine."

The Celebration concerts will mark the 40th anniversary of Madonna's self-titled debut album, which spawned hits including Holiday and Lucky Star.

They will also feature special guest Bob the Drag Queen, best known for winning Ru Paul's Drag Race.

Madonna's most recent studio album, Madame X, was released in 2019 and reached number two on the UK chart.

The singer has reportedly sold more than 300 million records worldwide, and was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2008.
