Madison Beer talks about being one year "clean of self-harm"

Singer Madison Beer has opened up to fans about her past struggles with self harm. Posting on her Instagram Stories late last night, Beer showed followers that she was marking a year "clean of self-harm," with a screenshot of the date marked in her calendar, commenting that "No one around me really knew I was struggling".

Beer posted a series of pictures to her Instagram Stories on Wednesday night marking the milestone, starting with a picture that showed the date marked in her calendar, along with a trigger warning she wrote;

"as of today I am officially one year clean of self harm. I never thought I'd be able to say this & I am so proud of myself, it has been a uphill battle, so whether you think you might b one day, one week, one month, or one year clean - I'm so proud of you."

In another story she said, "i'd also like to add... no one around me rlly knew i was struggling when i was. i hid not only my self harm, but my pain from the world."

She continued, "please please please do not ignore the signs if you think someone you know might be struggling. reach out to your friends. u truly never know what does on behind closed doors."

She ended the post saying, "if you are struggling at all, please please know it does get better and you are so valid and worthy of love and i believe in you."
