Macauley Culkin has backed calls from fans to have Donald Trump's cameo deleted from Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, responding to two people who tweeted asking for the now twice impeached president to be digitally replaced from the 1992 film.

The scene shows Donald (as himself) giving Kevin McCallister (Culkin) directions after he bumps into him while wandering around the Plaza Hotel in New York. Fans have long been calling for Donald's cameo to be removed from the film and now Culkin himself has got behind them.

After one Home Alone fan tweeted "Petition to digitally replace trump in 'home alone 2' with 40-year-old macaulay culkin," Culkin himself responded saying, "Sold." Meanwhile another fan mocked-up a clip of how the scene might look if Donald were removed, captioning the video, "due to popular request I have removed trump from home alone." Again, Culkin took to Twitter to praise the video, responding, "Bravo."

His term is due to end on January 20th, after four years in power. However, yesterday the 74-year-old politician became the first US President in history to be impeached twice, and has been charged with "incitement of insurrection" over last week's storming of the Capitol building, in which five people died.

In November last year Home Alone director Chris Columbus spoke about Donald Trump's cameo in the second instalment, saying that he "bullied" his way into the appearance. The team behind the movie wanted to film at The Plaza Hotel, which Donald owned at the time so he reportedly told the filmmaker, "The only way you can use the Plaza is if I'm in the movie."
