Marks & Spencer knows exactly how to drag us out of a post-lockdown beauty rut. On Thursday (27 May), the brand launched its phenomenally popular annual Summer Beauty Bag, which contains everything you need to revamp your skin, hair and make-up routines – just in time for those long-postponed events.

Of course, this being Marks & Spencer, the kit is packed with products you’ll actually use to the very last drop. Emma Hardie’s Protect & Prime SPF30 cream is a highlight, as is Origins’ long-loved Refreshing Eye Cream, which is famed for brightening and smoothing delicate skin.

But perhaps the star of the show is the full-size bottle of Aveda’s new Botanical Repair leave-in treatment, which is alone worth £28. Created with dry, stressed and frazzled hair in mind, this clever serum-cream hybrid sinks into damp lengths to deliver both short-term smoothness and longer-term strength.

This year’s kit is worth £145, yet costs just £30 when you spend £30 or more across the Marks & Spencer site which, let’s face it, is very easy to do.

If you’re after a little inspiration, why not treat yourself to Holly Willoughby’s animal-print midi dress, or the sure-to-sell-out sandals of the season.
