Day to day, I don’t wear much makeup. But when I do, I usually opt for a minimalist look that’s both simple and easy to do in 10 minutes or less.

As a shopping editor, I’m very lucky to have access to hundreds of beauty products and be able to test them out in my real life. Although I have several drawers filled to the brim with items I’m excited about, I typically find myself coming back to the same few products that give me a barely-there makeup look. Funnily enough, those same products are also the ones I get the most questions about — and the most compliments on from my friends.

From a tinted moisturizer with built-in SPF protection to a new brow gel that’s quickly become a staple in my beauty routine, keep scrolling to get the lowdown on the seven makeup products that consistently help me achieve a glowy, clean, subtle look.

This primer is packed with collagen peptides.
$36 at Sephora

Lately, I’ve been loving starting off my makeup routine with this blurring primer. While you can wear it by itself, it sits beautifully under my concealer and tinted moisturizer. It’s super hydrating on its own, and I appreciate that its matte finish keeps my skin glowy and not greasy.

Speaking of tinted moisturizer, Laura Mercier’s oil-free formula has been my favorite for the last year. I always apply this formula (that has SPF 20 in it!) with a damp beauty sponge, which makes it easy to build it up or sheer it out if I’m dealing with any blemishes or breakouts.

It condition eyebrows with shea butter and jojoba oil.
$21 at LAWLESS

When I’m doing my minimal look, I always reach for a flexible brow wax or gel to fluff and fill in my brows instead of a pencil. This new brow wax from LAWLESS is super creamy and has a very subtle tint, making it pretty much foolproof.

You'll want one in every purse.

Lip tints are ideal for those who want a little color on their lips but don’t want to break out a mirror every time they reapply. Jones Road Beauty’s The Lip Tint is perfectly described as a “modern, moisturizing stick of color that effortlessly glides on.” You can shop this lippy in nine colors, but my favorite is the punchy pink shade “Pretty.”

You have to try this tubing formula.
$26 at MERIT

MERIT’s lengthening mascara effortlessly defines and extends my lashes with just a few swipes of the wand. This clean, vegan, cruelty- and smudge-free formula also is the easiest mascara to remove that I’ve ever tried. Its tubing technology not only wraps each lash, but it slips off in seconds with a little warm water.

This clean highlighter is made without silicones.
$28 at Sephora

The words “glitter” and “subtle” don’t exactly go together, so when I want to add a little extra oomph to my makeup look, I reach for Saie’s gel highlighter. It comes in both a champagne (my favorite) and a bronze shade, and it gives my skin a radiant, lit-from-within finish without any chunky sparkles.

This balm comes in seven pretty colors.
$20 at Sephora

I naturally gravitate towards cream blushes due to the fact that they’re easy to blend and tend to last longer than powder formulas. Right now, Tower 28’s tinted balm in the shade Magic Hour is my favorite because it’s buildable and makes me look like I got some sun that day. It feels weightless on my skin and perfectly fits into my no-makeup makeup routine.
