Wes Nelson of Love Island fame says he is a millionaire after making shrewd financial moves following his time on the ITV2 dating show.

The 22-year-old revealed he won’t “have to work again” after accumulating a seven-figure fortune since his stint in the Villa in 2018.

Nelson has remained in the public eye making a series of appearance on reality talent shows such as Dancing On Ice and X Factor: Celebrity.

Speaking to The Sun, Nelson said: “I was a millionaire by the age of 21. And that’s not being a show off or anything, but it's wise investments and understanding this life doesn’t last forever.

“I’ve been lucky to have so many shows under my belt, and I’m super grateful for that.

“I have a passive income and generational wealth, so my children, whenever they come about, they're not going to have to work again. I don’t have to work again.”

Though he has been a regular face on our TV screens since reaching the Love Island final alongside partner Megan Barton-Hanson, it is his savvy business acumen which has helped him reach millionaire status.

Using money gained from his stint as a reality TV star, Nelson began building a property empire, saying he now has “a lot” of properties in his roster.

However, Nelson is not one to rest on his laurels, and his appearance on X Factor alongside fellow Love Island stars Eyal Booker, Samira Mighty and Zara McDermott piqued the interest of music executives.

He revealed last month he has signed with EMI Records, something he described as a "pinch-me moment" and the “biggest achievement in my entire life”.

Posting news of the record deal on Instagram last month, he said: “I am the happiest man on the planet! I have just signed my first record deal with @universalmusicgroup @emirecords. Anyone who knows me knows this is my biggest dream and I’m so proud!

“I’d like to thank my managers @rzk_rnr and @so.empire+ the Label for giving me the opportunity. I’ve got a great team around me, this is just the start! The debut single is on the way!”
