They might not be by the firepit, but a Love Island recoupling basically just happened, after Maura Higgins and Chris Taylor almost shared a kiss in new video. OMG.

The pair, who appeared in the 2019 summer series of the show, have been surrounded by romance rumours for a while. Following her split from Curtis Pritchard earlier this year, Maura was spotted leaving Chris's flat in June, but she later spoke out to deny they were romantically involved.

"Chris is one of my best friends," she told MailOnline in August. "A lot of people have said we're dating but it's only because we get on so well. We click and have the same banter. We got on so well in the villa but I don't think our friendship was shown at all.

"A lot of people assumed we got friendly outside of the show but that wasn't the case – we clicked straight away."

Now Love Island fans are questioning whether it is more than friendship like first suspected, after the pair shared an almost kiss in a new video. Does this mean they're isolating together? Are they a thing? Would you do this with someone platonically? So many unanswered Qs.

"Kiss your best friend challenge @maurahiggins." Chris captioned the video. "Cheers Tiktok...bloody fantastic idea 😐 probs shouldn’t have lunged in fairness. If anyone’s confused about why I took my top off...go watch Crazy, Stupid Love immediately 😘"

Maura commented, "Stop trying to kiss your best friend 🙄😂"

Fans, meanwhile, were all over the video. "Wait.....WHATTTT👀" one person wrote, while another added, "Oh ffs be an item... both are too damn sexy together." A third wrote, "Looked like she went to kiss you back!"

Are we being trolled or did Maura go back for a kiss? We need answers.
