Former Love Island star Marcel Somerville has opened up about the rocky patch in his marriage with Rebecca Vieira after she was accused of cheating on him.

Despite the drama, which saw Marcel, 38, clear out of their shared pad and scrub his socials clean of Rebecca's pics following the scandal in March, the couple are now attempting to mend fences.

In a candid chat, the Blazin' Squad member hinted at their efforts to salvage their relationship, saying: "I've gone through a little bit of a crazy time in my life. I'll talk more about it at a later time, as I'm not really ready to talk about what's going on right now. We're working through the situation to get the best outcome that we can."

It seems the couple are firmly sticking together, with no plans to part ways as he dismissed the idea of joining Love Island: All Stars. Chatting with MailOnline, he said: "I'm married, so doing that isn't in my view right now, and it wouldn't have been at the time."

Showing their commitment to their relationship, Rebecca shared an adorable snap of them with their son Roman on Easter Sunday, captioning it: "Let everything you do be done in love, and let Easter fill your heart with joy and hope."

When Marcel faced public embarrassment, Rebecca issued a heartfelt apology publicly, appearing to accept full responsibility for her actions. She expressed her remorse on Instagram, stating: "By now most of you would have seen what's going on, I've made a huge mistake, I've embarrassed not only my husband but myself and both our families.

"My actions were foolish and have hurt so many people around us but most importantly my husband. I've said a lot of things that I shouldn't have and it was stupid of me so I won't sit here and justify my actions, those decisions should have never been made."

She added: "I want to publicly apologise to my Marcel, just as loudly as the rest of the noise. For all the hurt, embarrassment and pain I have put him through there is nothing and no one in the world that comes before you and our family. No-one could ever compare."

She then shared a snap of the couple's gold wedding bands, etched with "always and forever."

The next day, Marcel responded by sharing a biblical quote on his social media, which read: "God has a plan for you. God has a plan for your life. For I know the plans I have for you,' says the Lord. 'They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.' (Jeremiah 29:11)."

A source previously said to The Mirror: "Marcel is absolutely devastated. Rebecca was his life and he'd changed so many things about his lifestyle to make her happy. Everything he did, everything he worked for was for his wife and his son.

"The poor guy feels like he's in a nightmare and he keeps hoping he'll wake up. For him to know that Rebecca was telling another man she loves him, and then spent Valentine's Day with him has completely broken him. ".

Adding more salt to the wound, they continued: "He doesn't know what he's going to do now but he's moved out of the family home and is living with friends at the moment."

Marcel and Rebecca's love story started in 2018 at a London club and their whirlwind romance saw them expecting within just 14 months.
