- Luke Mabbott and Demi Jones split last month after meeting on the winter series of Love Island.
- Luke has now been linked to 2019 Love Island contestant Lucie Donlan.
In a Love Island coupling we didn't see coming, winter series contestant Luke Mabbott has been linked to 2019 Islander Lucie Donlan. Luke, who split from Demi Jones last month, and Lucie have reportedly been getting close during lockdown.
Super-sleuth Love Island fans noticed the pair had started liking each other's Instagram pictures over the last few weeks. Just yesterday, Luke appeared to reference Lucie in an Instagram post captioned: "Since you’ve been around I smile a lot more than I used to."
While Lucie also hinted at them getting close with this caption: "Dear tummy… Sorry for all the butterflies lately. I swear it’s not my fault… it’s his."
A source told The Sun Online it's early days for the pair, adding: "Luke and Lucie have been speaking for a few weeks but they haven't actually met up yet."
Demi and Luke split last month, with Demi later revealing the break up was mainly down to Luke.
"We've completely called it off now, I think it was brought about more from his behalf than mine, but we're mutual and friendly," she told MailOnline. "With lockdown, it drove us apart and we live so far away from each other. I feel like there wasn't a lot of effort made with communication, so we drifted as a result. It's a shame and bad timing."
Admitting she was left disappointed as Luke opted against making them official, she added, "I had my hopes that he'd ask me once we came out of Love Island but it never really happened. As lockdown went on, little effort was made so it was called off."
That might explain one of Demi's recent Instagram posts, which fans are convinced was a message for surfer Lucie.
"Just recently I’ve been catching feelings....not flights," Lucie wrote on a Instagram post shared on 20 June. A few days later Demi posted, "Honey.. you should take my advice catch that flight, not the feeling 🤫."
So much drama.
