Love Island's Joey Essex confirms Jessy Potts split seven weeks after leaving ITV2 villa
Love Island favourites Joey Essex and Jessy Potts have called it quits just seven weeks after leaving the villa. The pair had a tumultuous journey on the ITV2 show, with many doubting their relationship would survive in the real world. They were even labelled as the 'least compatible' before being booted out of the villa. Since their departure from the show, the couple has been noticeably absent from each other's lives, with Joey jetting off to Ibiza while Jessy remained in Essex.
Now, TOWIE star Joey and Jessy have confirmed they've split. Despite spending significant time apart, leading some to label their relationship a "showmance", Joey was adamant last month that they were serious about their future together, even discussing children. "We both want a big family. But we're having a bit of a tiff at the moment. She wants four, I want eight. Imagine how great that would be? I'm ready. I'd do it tomorrow. Maybe even tonight," he shared recently.
However, it seems the pair have decided it's best to stay friends, reports the Mirror. "Unfortunately, we have decided to call an end to the relationship but I hope we can continue to be friends," Joey revealed. "I truly wish Jessy the very best with whatever she does in the future."

Jessy also spoke to The Sun, expressing her appreciation for the time she spent with Joey in the villa, admitting they 'tried to make it work but it wasn't meant to be'.
"I'm so grateful to everyone who supported us and look forward to all of the exciting opportunities ahead," she stated. Despite leaving the show on her own terms, Joey faced accusations of "faking" his feelings for Jessy and being overly absorbed in the game tactics.
In an intimate chat with OK! recently, Joey strongly defended their connection, asserting: "If anyone focused on just me and Jessy as a couple, and not all the other drama, you'd see we were very genuine in the villa."
He passionately elaborated: "From the minute I met Jessy, I never looked any other way. There were no red flags with each other. We were tested the most out of everyone, but we came through it. We took our time, had fun and enjoyed each other's company. We weren't jumping to make decisions because the next bombshell was coming in, or because it was Casa Amor, we did things our way. We played it correctly. We weren't in it to win it. We just wanted to be together."
