- Love Island's Jess and Ched met during the first ever winter series earlier this year
- Two weeks ago, Ched admitted they were struggling to make things work in lockdown.
When it comes to Love Island success stories, it's not looking very good for the first ever winter series of the dating show. Just weeks after Demi Jones and Luke Mabbott revealed they've split, another winter Love Island couple has called it quits.
Writing on her Instagram Stories on Thursday night, Jess Gale told her followers she and Ched had split, and that they're still on friendly terms.
"To confirm, myself and Ched have split, we are still good friends and I wish him all the best x. Thanks for all the support you have given us since the villa."
Ched later shared the message but didn't add any comments of his own.
The news comes two weeks after Ched opened up about their romance and admitted they were struggling to make things work while in lockdown.
"We came out [of Love Island], as you can imagine we had interviews together up and down," he told Secure The Insecure podcast. "We were in London, we were in Manchester. So I spent two weeks with her."
He continued, "Then I came home and then the following Monday we got locked down. So she was in lockdown with her sisters and and I was in Suffolk at home with my family. So we haven’t seen each other really.
"We voice note everyday. Its just harder. Obviously when you haven’t seen somebody you feel like you are not as close."
It sounded like a tough situation, so we hope they're both doing OK!
Now Jess and Ched have split, that just leaves Siannise Fudge and Luke Trotman and Paige Turley and Finley Tapp repping the winter series.
