Love Island's Chris Taylor and Maura Higgins are officially a couple
They've been teasing us for some time now, but Love Island 2019 stars Chris Taylor and Maura Higgins have finally confirmed what we all wanted to know - that they're officially together.
The pair, who appeared in the 2019 summer series of the show, have been surrounded by romance rumours for a while. Following her split from Curtis Pritchard earlier this year, Maura was spotted leaving Chris's flat in June, but she later spoke out to deny they were romantically involved.
"Chris is one of my best friends," she told MailOnline in August. "A lot of people have said we're dating but it's only because we get on so well. We click and have the same banter. We got on so well in the villa but I don't think our friendship was shown at all."
However, it looks like that friendship has evolved into something more, as Chris just shared the sweetest picture of them both with the caption: "Turns out I fell in love with my best mate @maurahiggins ♥️"
Maura also shared the same image, writing: "He’s mine❤️"
Of course, their fellow Love Island stars were quick to comment. Molly-Mae Hague wrote: "FINALLLLLLYYYYYYY😭😭😭😭" while Danny Williams added: "Feel like a proud dad who’s just watched his lad score a screamer for his footy team. Get in there son."
The couple have been adding fuel to the rumours recently, with a TikTok featuring the "Kiss your best friend challenge". While they may have had their fun teasing us for a little while, we're definitely glad to hear this heartwarming news today. Congrats, guys!
