Love Island's Chris Hughes is apparently back in the dating game following his split from Little Mix's Jesy Nelson earlier this year.

This time last month, the ex-Islander got candid about his split from Jesy, admitting it's the first time he'd ever been heartbroken. He also joked that he's now "useless with women" because of lockdown, but what a difference a month can make.

This week Chris, 27, was pictured looking very cosy on a date with Instagram influencer and model Mary Bedford. "Chris and Mary went out for a slap-up dinner and looked really close," a source told The Sun. "They were kissing and cuddling and were all over each other when they headed out at the end of the evening. They headed off in a cab to the train station together and looked really sweet together."

The cosy date comes after Chris opened up about his split from Jesy for the first time, confessing he was left heartbroken when she called things off after almost a year and a half together. "It was tough and when everyone’s like, time’s a healer, you don’t believe it when you’re in the moment," he told Vicky Pattison on her podcast The Secret To.

"I don’t think I’ve ever felt heartbroken or anything. And then a couple of weeks down the line, you start thinking about it less and less. And the next thing, you’re good as gold," he went on.

While talking about dating again, he told the former Geordie Shore star, "I feel like completely useless with women! Not useless! But this whole lockdown takes you a step back. I feel like I’ve been living through the stone ages where…"

Vicky jumped in, joking, "You’ve been writing women letters and that?"

"I do that anyway! Haha! No, it’s one of them things," the Love Island star told her. "This lockdown feels like it’s gone on for so long. I’ll be alright, I’ll get straight back into it."

We never doubted you, Chris.
