Love Island 2021 is officially over, and one contestant has shed some light on what goes on behind the scenes by revealing how much they were paid to appear in the series.
2021 Islander Priya Gopaldas shared a screenshot of her payment on Instagram, which came to £750, explaining that she has chosen to donate her pay cheque to an NHS charity.
Posting her bank transfer from ITV on her Instagram Stories, Priya also shared a screenshot from Virgin Money Giving, showing that she'd donated her £750 payment to NHS Charities Together.
Priya added the caption "Love Island pay cheque put to use", alongside a GIF with the words "Inspire" and "Be Inspired" linked by an arrow.
The 23-year-old is currently a fifth-year medical student at University College London and she reportedly worked on a COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit earlier this year, so it's even more fitting for her to choose to donate her pay cheque to the NHS.
Priya entered the Love Island villa as a bombshell on day 42 of the show, alongside Aaron Simpson. After choosing to couple up with PhD student Brett Staniland, she was then dumped from the island just eight days after arriving.
Considering Priya's eight-day stint on the show, her £750 payment works out to £93.75 per day.
