Wondering where Love Island 2017 is filmed? Look no further than the north-east coast of the Balearic island of Majorca. We round up the show's best filming locations, from boutique hotels which have played host to romantic (and not-so-romantic) dates, to spas – and even supermarkets.

Love Island Villa, Sant Llorenc

The Love Island Villa is located high up in the hills on the outskirts of the town of Sant Llorenc des Cardassar (known coloquially as Sant Llorenc), on the east coast of the island, near Cala Millor. The villa is kitted out with an infinity pool, hot tub, outdoor gym, outdoor kitchen, fire pit and plenty of decking and lounging spots for the contestants to fall in – or out – of love. According to an insider on the island, the town is buzzing with the crew (the show allegedly has a staff of around 200) which has left locals bemused but delighted with the increase in business.

Hotel Lago Garden, Cala Ratjada

The Love Island girls were treated to a cosseting spa day at Hotel Lago Garden in Cala Ratjada, a small town on the coast known for its long beaches and crystal-clear waters. The hotel is set within magnificent gardens – which can be seen from the room balconies – and the spa’s focus on water makes for a peaceful sanctuary. It has Turkish baths, hot tubs, pools of ‘hot beds’, cold plunge pools, plus saunas, aromatic showers and ice fountains.

Can Solaies Hotel, Sant Llorenc

Can Solaies has been a mainstay during Love Island this season. The pretty boutique hotel, not far from the villa, has hosted both Johnny and Camilla’s romantic dinner date (before he ditched her for Tyla); and cocktails for friends Montana and Amber.

And it’s no surprise: the beautiful courtyard is the perfect setting for a date, lit up by candlelight at night with rustic furniture adorned in cushions and colourful glasswear, while bedrooms continue along a similar vein, some of which have freestanding tubs.

Ses Cases de Fetget, Son Servera

No wonder Sam and Olivia had a brief flirtation after their date at the incredible Ses Cases de Fetgeg hotel – the mountain views at dusk from the poolscape are enough to spark romance between the most unlikely of pairs.

The 17th-century traditional Majorcan farmhouse is located within the Llevant National Park, meaning it’s surrounded by mountains and olive groves. Bedrooms are traditionally rustic, with stone walls and farmhouse-style ceilings, while the restaurant focuses on modern Majorcan cuisine.

Es Pati Restaurant, Sant Llorenc

Mike had his three dates (with Montana, Jess and Olivia) in the shaded courtyard of Es Pati in Sant Llorenc. Blink and you’d miss it - from the outside it is an ordinary-looking house, but inside it’s an intimate restaurant, decorated with traditional furniture and an open fire, but in summer be sure to head for the garden draped in ivy and lit by candlelight. The chef heads out to the market every day to source fresh produce for his daily-changing five-course set menu. Intricate dishes might include prawns with algae salad, lemon cream and caviar, or quail breast with paprika mango ragout and barbecue sauce.

Son Amoixa Vell, Manacor

Although Kem and Amber’s loved-up lemon-picking date took place on a private farm, you can recreate it at Son Amoixa Vell, an agroturismo (country farmhouse) hotel in nearby Manacor.

The 16th-century house is stood high above rolling hills with lemon and lime, almond and fig trees – the perfect spot for romantic walk. Inside, it’s old-school but homely, with traditional tiled floors, wooden ceilings and wall murals in bedrooms. There’s a solar-heated pool, free bikes available, tennis courts and a traditional Majorcan restaurant, serving up dishes such as salt cod and paella.

Suma Supermarket, Sant Llorenc

Perhaps one of the most comic moments of the series to date took place in Sant Llorenc’s local supermarket Suma. Olivia and Chris, charged with the task of cooking dinner for the house, headed to the supermarket in order to pick up some ingredients for spaghetti bolognese. Bickering and miscommunication ensued: over which type of onion to use; and about how to say garlic in Spanish. For those interested, the bread they were debating over was actually a sweet cake, as pointed out (in Spanish) by the owner of the shop.

Sa Punta, Cala Bona

While the boys were blessed with looking after their (plastic) screaming babies, the girls were treated to lunch at Sa Punta restaurant. Wine and pizza were served as the group relaxed on a breezy, palm-tree-laden terrace overlooking the sea at Port Verd. But things got a little heated as Gabby told them she was upset about some of their behaviour towards her during a lie detector challenge the previous day. As Olivia came to Gabby's comfort, Montana remained distinctly frosty.

The restaurant is among the best in the area, and typically serves Mediterranean dishes with a focus on seafood, including oysters, meats and cheeses. Despite Gabby's emotional breakdown, the occasion was resolved and the group left together as friends. As Amber concluded: "100 per cent girl power – back each other till the cows come home."
