Love Island fans have been left furious after ITVX crashed moments before the brand new series kicked off on Monday, 3 June.

Viewers flocked to the broadcaster hub to get their fix of the iconic dating show, as a new batch of sexy singletons entered the villa in search of love.

But many have experienced technical difficulties and were unable to watch the show, with furious fans taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, to vent their frustrations.

One wrote: "i’ve been refreshing itv hub for the past 15 minutes I’M GONNA CRY IT’S NOT LOADING," as another said: "ITVX not working, classic, must be the start of a new season of #LoveIsland," whilst another tweeted: "Not ITVX trying to play with me."

A fourth person shared a throwback clip of Love Island 2022 winner Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu storming off in the villa, as they quipped: "the whole of the uk missing the first part of love island cus itv x decided to play up #loveIsland"

Yet another show fan wrote: "Is it me or itv x is bugging I'm screaming !! #loveisland"

After the first group of Islanders entered the villa and got acquainted, show host Maya Jama strolled in, looking incredible in a white lacy dress, and set them their first challenge of the series.

She told the Islanders: "Welcome to Love Island, it’s lovely to meet you guys but I think we should have a little game to get things going."

She then split the confused new boys and girls into groups before confirming that they will take part in an important new challenge. "You’ve already started getting to know each other so you guys have had enough time for first impressions, right?" she said to them.

"First impressions count. Boys and girls, I now want you to rate each other in order of who you think has come across the most like boyfriend and girlfriend material, right down to who has given the least relationship vibes," she added.

Instead of past formats which have seen the islanders step forward for who they fancy or be placed together by a public vote, this time they were asked to organise the boys and girls from most to least on who they think is relationship material.

In a big twist, once the decisions had been made, Maya revealed that each of the Islanders would be coupled up with the person stood opposite them.
