Love Island fans fume over 'huge error' just minutes into new series

Love Island fans have taken to social media as they furiously criticised a huge blunder in the new episode. As usual, the series kicked off with a video montage introducing the new contestants ahead of their arrival in the villa.

Some of the show's viewers were left fuming over a rather awkward faux-pas as the segment took a superhero theme, which they paired with music from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, the theme began with a reference to Batman, who is a DC superhero.

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one angry fan wrote: "Not the marvel theme with the dc bat-signal #loveisland."

"Realising it's the bat symbol with Avengers music is hurting me as a Marvel fan #loveIsland", reports the Mirror. A third person questioned: "My first thought watching the #LoveIsland opening credits was 'why are they mixing Marvel Avengers music with a play on DC's bat signal? ' I feel that says all you need to know about me."

Yet another disgruntled fan pointed out: "How are they doing a DC sign with a Marvel sound??? #loveIsland." While a number quipped: "Marvel theme song with a bat signal inspired light is crazy work #LoveIsland."

On a more positive note, Maya Jama has returned to host the ITV2 dating show, having previously left fans delighted with her string of fabulous outfits. Ahead of the show's launch she said: "I have a really good stylist, Rhea, so we do think, is this going to be see-through, how is this going to look when I'm walking, obviously nighttime vibes with spotlights.

"There is a checklist, I have to actually be able to walk in it because sometimes amazing dresses make you like a mermaid and you can't. So you have to tick all those boxes.

"I'm quite consistent with my vibes, very beach party daytime looks and then night I love a black sleek dress for dramatic moments. I've got ten outfits currently but we just sense the vibe."

"We do three takes, they do different angles. I don't just get out the car and go 'waaah'. We try this angle and that to get the perfect slow-mo strut. It's also not a normal situation, walking seductively down a runway. My only tip is smize, like squint and smile. You just have to walk and it always comes out alright.".

She then shared another tip for making a good entrance, as she said: "walk like the person you fancy most in the world is watching."
