Less than a week after we realised Love Island Australia's John James was actually on Big Brother back in 2010, he's quit the villa. The DJ walked off the show after failing to make a connection with anyone.

Quick to leave, he didn't bother saying bye to the girls but told the boys he walked because he knew he was going to get dumped, admitting: "I didn't want to delay the inevitable, so to speak."

After watching him wheel his bags out of the villa, one viewer asked, "Is John-James really leaving because no one fancies him??"

While a second was more sympathetic, writing: "I wish he had found someone."

Explaining his decision to leave, he said: "I know what I came here for. I’m true to myself. I came here looking for a connection and not only can I not see one with any girl in the villa, I don’t want one with any of the girls in the villa at the moment."

He continued, "I’d be lying to myself and I’d be playing a game in front of everybody if I stayed here on the island."

In an interview with Nine.com after getting back to Australia, he added that he knew he was going when the next recoupling came around after new contestant Jaxon Human entered the villa.

"So I just decided that the recoupling was going to come and my name was on the chopping block so rather than delay the inevitable I thought I’d stay true to myself and wrap it up. I guess if they had brought in another girl, I would have waited to see what the outcome was there. I went in there to find a girl, not to chill out in Spain for six weeks."

Hopefully he's had more luck since.
