Onesies used to be a shameful secret: an item that we’d unfurl from under our pillow, curtains closed, to cosy up on our sofa in, but would never talk about to our fashion-forward friends.

Then, a revolution, and for a while everyone started wearing them out-and-about on their errands, to the supermarket and when popping over to one another’s houses.

Alas, they soon fell back out of style, but not out of comfort - and so we’ve been keeping our eyes peeled for a version that feels decidedly chic but still offers us space to move and softness to relax.

And we’ve found it...

The uber-stylish V Neck Onesie from Hush has extra-deep pockets (joy) and is made from soft modal fabric.

Ok, ok, it’s not your typical fluffy onesie with ears and a zip down the front, but that’s really no bad thing, let’s be honest.

The fit is flattering though breathable and could easily be worn out with a pair of sandals or popped on with a pair of slippers for lounging in style.

Yes, we know that it sits in the ‘pyjamas’ section of the site, but pyjamas are on-trend at the moment anyway.

The only thing is, if you’re keen to get your hands on one then you’ll need to be quick, as the design is already nearly sold out on John Lewis’ site and looks to be going the same way on hush too.

One emphatic reviewer, exclaimed: “Really lovely garment, nice material and has a good amount of stretch, whilst still maintaining its shape. I'm fairly tall (5'8) and often have a problem with jumpsuits not being long enough in the body, but this is perfect. Looks great with trainers, but could equally be dressed up with a belt and heels for evening.”

While another added: “Really lovely heavy fabric.”
