Louise Thompson expecting baby after miscarriage heartbreak

·2-min read

Louise Thompson is expecting a baby with fiance Ryan Libbey.

The Made in Chelsea star, who tragically suffered a miscarriage earlier this year, shared the news on Instagram, and while she said the couple was "counting our blessings", Louise confessed she's struggled to enjoy the first three months of her pregnancy.

Posting two snaps of her and Ryan cuddling while holding up a picture of a 12-week scan, the 30-year-old said her journey so far has been "quite challenging" as she feared something would go wrong.

"I’ve hardly taken any pictures or videos for fear that something might happen. There are 0 before and after snaps, no week to week transformations or fun reveal videos with friends and family leading a trail of buns to an oven, instead there is a drawer filled with 10000000x billion gazillion pregnancy tests (shameless and expensive) and some sensitive conversations where we try not to get too excited," she candidly shared.

"I’d be lying if I said it’s been an easy ride but the truth is I think poor Ryan has found it even harder than I have," Louise added.

She said she had hoped to keep the news a secret, but joked she was forced to announce her pregnancy because her petite five-foot frame couldn't hide her bump any longer.

"The truth is I might have waited a little longer to share but I don’t think I could have hidden the news for much longer because there is absolutely ZERO room left in this 5ft short torso for a growing bump except to push MASSIVELY outwards which means it’s becoming very hard to hide," she quipped.

Louise went on to ask her followers for any advice, and said she's suffered from anxiety when faced with the daunting prospect of being pregnant while suffering from the chronic condition ulcerative colitis.

"I’ve always been a firm believer that women are superhuman for what they put up with and now I have even more reason to stand by that," Louise stated.
