'Doctor Who' star Louise Jameson joins 'Emmerdale'
Emmerdale has signed up veteran Doctor Who star Louise Jameson as its newest cast member.
The ITV soap has announced that 70-year-old Jameson, known for playing Leela in Doctor Who in the 70s and for playing Rosa Di Marco in EastEnders in the late 90s, will be moving in to the Dales.

She will join the cast as Mary, Rhona Goskirk's (Zoe Henry) mum who will burst onto the scene just in time to disrupt a big moment in long-running character Rhona's life.
Mary is described as a no-nonsense character who has always had a strained relationship with Rhona, who never believed she was good enough in her mother's eyes.
Despite their difficulties, Mary turns out to be a hit with the rest of the village - but will she be able to repair her broken relationship with Rhona and can the pair start to rebuild as mother and daughter this late in life?
She might start out as a popular newcomer, but Mary's domineering nature will begin to ruffle feathers in the village and there are also secrets to be uncovered as Rhona finds out the real reason behind her mother's arrival.
Jameson, whose TV credits also include Bergerac, Tenko and Doc Martin, said: "It feels like such a gift to be welcomed into the Emmerdale cast. Playing Zoe’s on screen mum is the icing on the cake."
Welcoming her to the cast, Emmerdale producer Laura Shaw said: "We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Louise to Emmerdale. It's great to have such a high calibre and talented actor join our already strong team and she will be a fabulous asset to the show.

"Intelligent, witty and complex, Mary promises to be a force to be reckoned with in the village and for Rhona, there won't ever be a dull moment whilst her domineering mother is around."
It isn't yet known when Jameson will make her first appearance in the Dales, but Mary's arrival is expected not to be too far off.
