The best collections of summer come from some covetable new fashion collaborations...

1. John Lewis' Ibizan partnership

From 12th June, prices start at £165, John Lewis

The Ibizan concept boutique La Galeria Elefante is coming to a John Lewis & Partners near you. I know, it sounds like a stretch to imagine the White Isle’s bohemian luxe vibes infiltrating your local high street. But founder Victoria Elefante has worked closely with the design team behind the retailer’s 'AND/OR' line to develop a collection of five limited edition printed cotton dresses, that will work as easily for warm summer days in Blighty as they would the Balearics.

2. A collaboration from down under

The London label Beulah has collaborated with Australian street style photographer Candice Lake, on a capsule collection of printed dresses and blouses that promise to be highly photogenic in your holiday photos.

From 17th June, prices start at £250, Beulah

Proceeds from some of the styles will also aid small charities and community groups working with vulnerable women in India.

3. Louis Vuitton collaborates with artists

Louis Vuitton has asked six contemporary artists to reinterpret the classic Capucines bag. Artists Alex Israel, Nicholas Hlobo, Tschabalal Self, Urs Fischer, Sam Falls and Jonas Wood have each turned the bag into an artwork. Only 300 of each bag will be produced, each of which will be signed by the artist and numbered.

Louis Vuitton's Capucines bag first launched in 2013, named after Rue des Capucines, the Parisian street on which Louis Vuitton opened his first store in 1854.

4. Just for the frill of it

Ready for a holiday romance, H&M has flirted with the Dutch lingerie label Love Stories to create a gorgeous collection of vintage-inspired printed swimwear. In these hands even the wetsuits look pretty.

5. Birkenstock's get a chic makeover

A long-anticipated collection of high fashion Birkenstocks is here, with designs launching by Valentino, Rick Owens and more. My favourite; the classic ‘ugly sandal’ has been reimagined in raffia and silk by hotelier Marie-Louise Sciò, of the family behind iconic Tuscan retreat Il Pellicano.

Il Dolce Far Niente translates to ‘the sweetness of doing nothing’. Sounds idyllic, doesn’t it?
