Three-time SI Swimsuit model Lorena Durán made her debut with the magazine in 2020, when she traveled to Scrub Island in the British Virgin Islands and was photographed by Josie Clough. After a year-long hiatus, the Seville, Spain native returned to the fold for the ’22 issue, and was captured by James Macari in Montenegro. The 30-year-old, who celebrated her milestone birthday last month, appeared in the most recent SI Swimsuit Issue following her marvelous photoshoot with Ben Watts in Puerto Rico.
“Montenegro is an amazing place. But everyone was shocked to see a girl in a bikini in the middle of the city. We shot in the oldest part of the city, which is different from my last SI Swimsuit shoot at the beach,” she said of her sophomore feature and how it differed from her rookie year. “I am so happy to return another year with my Swimsuit family. It really is a family, and I want to continue supporting diversity with them. For me, it’s super important to have diversity and help women feel good and love their bodies. SI does that. Working for SI Swimsuit has been a dream and becoming more visible allows me to leave a legacy that helps more women feel good and love their bodies. I’m working on a new brand for all body types that's unisex and diverse. The world needs more brands that support diversity.”
In addition to her work with SI Swimsuit, Durán is known for her collaborations with Victoria’s Secret, Intimissimi, L’Oréal Paris and Abercrombie.
