Carey Mulligan and her Marcus Mumford enjoyed a date night at the Oscars on Sunday evening.

And from the looks of the musician's Instagram photos from the 93rd Awards ceremony, it appears he may have taken home a rather unusual souvenir.

The 34-year-old Mumford & Sons musician took to Instagram after the ceremony to share a carousel of photos from the glamour night where he was seen supporting his actor wife, who was nominated for Best Actress for her work in the film Promising Young Woman.

In addition to sharing photos of his burger, the back of his wife's Valentino dress and his Chanel eye pads, one image sees the musician holding an Oscars-themed lampshade from their table at the event.

In the snap, Mumford can be seen holding the glittery lampshade in his hands while riding in a transit car.

If there was any doubt as to whether or not the lampshade did indeed come from the ceremony, then let the sleek piping with '2021 Oscars' emblazoned on the lampshade's rim confirm your hesitations.

Whether or not Mumford kept the lampshade is anyone's guess.

This is the second time this year the couple have shared some much-needed lighthearted fun online.

Earlier this month the musician joined Mulligan during her Saturday Night Live hosting debut as an unexpected guest.

The Promising Young Woman actor hosted the NBC sketch comedy series for the first time on Saturday, April 10, during which she spoke about the UK lockdown with her husband and their two children. At one point, the star was surprised by the Mumford and Sons frontman as he popped up in the audience.

After a fun back and forth, which included Mulligan describing her other half as 'that guy who brings out the acoustic guitar at parties', the pair opened the show and the rest is now part of SNL history.
