Kanye West and Drake fans have been keeping a close eye on the rappers' friendship, after their close bond seemingly fell into a feud. But after sharing a photo together in November 2021, it looks like they might've put it behind them. Here's a look back on everything that went down between Kanye and Drake, starting with that very photo.

Drake and Kanye are photographed together, seemingly putting their feud and all the drama behind them. Kanye captioned the photo, which also featured J Prince, with a white dove.

"You have reached your destination," Drake later added, with a video of the pair together.

Here's a look back at their friendship timeline...

2007 - 2008

A relatively unknown Drake releases a number of freestyle raps over Kanye's songs, before they collaborate on the track 'So Far Gone.' Drake gushes over Kanye's influence on his music, telling MTV News at the time, "Before I ever got the chance to meet him, Kanye West shaped a lot of what I do, as far as music goes.

"We always, always, always took the time to listen to Kanye's music and appreciate it beyond. He knows how to recognise great music that's not his. He knows how to utilise great sounds and great music. So before I met him, I had the utmost respect for Kanye West. I'd even go as far as to say he's the most influential person as far as a musician that I'd ever had in my life."

2009

The pair continue to collaborate on songs like 'Forever' with Eminem and Lil Wayne and 'Find Your Love.'

2010

Kanye allegedly cuts Drake's verse from his song, 'All Of The Lights.'

2011

Drake takes a public jab at Kanye West and Jay-Z's joint album Watch The Throne, due to the fact they were working on it at the same time as his album with Lil' Wayne. "I heard some other guys are coming out with an album, too," he said on Westwood. "There's two other rappers that are coming out with an album together. I don't know where they got that idea."

He later tells The Source he wants to be "better" than Kanye, commenting "when I was a kid trying to figure out what I liked, it was Ye who I related to the most. He was an artist, in every sense, from his cover art to his music. Now, I would say, he is [a] really great competitor…and friend, at the same time… My goal is to surpass everything he's accomplished. I don't want to be as good as Kanye, I want to be better."

2014

Drake disses Kanye's album Yeezus in an interview with Rolling Stone. "There were some real questionable bars on there," he said, before later making his respect known: "Kanye's the reason I'm here. I love everything about that guy," he said.

West reportedly responded to the interview during a gig, telling the crowd, "They always be trying to pit ****** against each other and it ain't going down no more. So, tonight, it ain't none of that. We love Drake."

2015 - 2016

The pair take aim at each other in their lyrics; Kanye called out Drake's collaboration with Nike in the song 'Facts', while Drake goaded Kanye about the size of his pool (yes really) in 'Summer Sixteen', with the lyrics, "Ye's pool is nice, mine's just bigger's what I'm saying."

Things appear to be fine, though - they later collaborate on Kanye's track '30 Hours', which included a writing credit for Drake.

May 2018

Pusha T - who is signed to Kanye West's record label - releases a Drake diss track, 'The Story of Adidon', which alleges that Drake has a secret son. While Drake didn't respond to the claims at the time, he later confirmed he was a father, with lyrics on his number one album Scorpion in June 2018.

Drake's producer J Prince later hinted that the only way Pusha T 'outed' Drake's secret son was because he knew about it through Kanye - who had heard it at a Scorpion listening party from March 2018 - something which Kanye later denied.

"I did not have any conversations about your child with Pusha. I don’t play with the idea of people’s children after I spoke to Wiz a few years earlier," Kanye tweeted.

September 2018

A fan theory goes viral which suggests Drake's song 'In My Feelings' is about Kanye's then wife, Kim Kardashian. A Twitter thread from user @tmorrison54 had over 60,000 retweets and 129,000 likes, and alleging "Drake’s been telling us for months now he slept with Kim K, we just haven’t been listening".

Kim denied the rumours and Kanye slammed Drake on Twitter, posting 18-tweets in a row attempting to expose him for being two-faced, bringing in everything from the fact Drake shaded his Yeezy trainers, to the diss track he wrote about Kanye.

He also took to Instagram Stories to hit out at Drake for not shutting the rumours down, saying, "People making rumours or thinking you f****** my wife and you're not saying nothing… that don't sit well with my spirit," West said. "You know, if I had a girlfriend from Chicago, her name was Renita, and you was married to Rihanna, I wouldn't make no song called 'Riri.' So when you're like, 'I don't know where it came,' you too smart for that bro."

December 2019

Drake tells the Rap Radar podcast he "no desire to mend anything with" Pusha T after he leaked news of his son, and that Kanye only encouraged animosity between the pair.

"That's where all of this stems from," he said. "It's all rooted in that situation, yes. I think that he definitely recruited a guy with a similar dislike for me no matter what he says in interviews... I could never ever ever ever turn my back on the things that I've said about [Kanye] in a positive light, and I still feel all those same things.

"He's still my, obviously with the exception of Lil Wayne … and if I look at Hov as the guy who truly shaped the majority of my thinking, skill set, all those things, Kanye West would be my favourite artist all around. And that's just facts. I have no problem saying that. Things have changed. I'm not just some kid that's a fan anymore. Now we have personal situations, and like I said, a lot of his issues with me, I can't fix them for him."

Kanye (who recently changed his name to Ye) says he's ready to put all the drama behind them, once and for all. In a video shared on Twitter, the 44-year-old said: "I'm making this video to address the ongoing back and forth between myself and Drake. Both me and Drake have taken shots at each other and it's time to put it to rest."
