What royal family dramas await in 2023?
It's been quite a tumultuous year for the British royal family. What began as an historic year for the monarchy with Queen Elizabeth's Platinum Jubilee eventually turned to sorrow when she passed away two months after the summer celebrations in September at the age of 96. Her son King Charles acceded to the throne but amid all of that, Prince Harry and his wife Meghan made a series of damaging allegations against the institution in their new Netflix documentary. The first coronation in 70 years...
The King's coronation is set to take place in May 2023 and - in what will be the first in 70 years - promises to be a "stripped back" ceremony to better reflect the world today. A source said: "The king has stripped back a lot of the Coronation in recognition that the world has changed in the past 70 years."©BANG Showbiz - 3/11
Prince Harry's memoir
Over the last few years, Prince Harry has had a tumultuous relationship with his family and eventually stepped down from official duties in January 2020 to move to LA with his wife Meghan in search of privacy and a new life. In January 2023, Harry is set to release his bombshell memoir 'Spare' detailing his life and key moments such as the death of his mother Princess Diana in 1997 when he was just 12. A source said: "'Spare' takes readers immediately back to one of the most searing images of the twentieth century: two young boys, two princes, walking behind their mother’s coffin as the world watched in sorrow -and horror."©BANG Showbiz - 4/11
A fourth child for William and Kate?
The Prince and Princess of Wales - who were formerly known as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge before the Queen's death - already have three children, Prince George, nine, Princess Charlotte, seven, and four-year-old Prince Louis, together but an insider has teased that a new addition could be on the cards. A source said: "They both love the idea of being a family of six and know that George, Charlotte and, eventually, little Louis will step up to the plate and help them if they’re lucky enough to have another brother or sister. Welcoming a fourth child to the mix is something they’ve always been open to, but this year they’ve had to prioritise their new positions and responsibilities. Now they think a baby will make their family unit even stronger."©BANG Showbiz - 5/11
Catherine's own path
Catherine, Princess of Wales - who was known as Kate Middleton before marrying Prince William in 2011 - is said to be determined to carve out her "own path" now that she has inherited the title once used by her late mother-in-law Diana, who died in a car crash in 1997 aged 36. A source said: "[Catherine] appreciates the history associated with this role but will understandably want to look to the future as she creates her own path."©BANG Showbiz - 6/11
Could Harry and Meghan lose their titles?

The hardest working royal...
Princess Anne - who is the only daughter of Queen Elizabeth and her husband Prince Philip - is often said to be the "hardest working royal" and 2023 is set to be no exception. The Princess Royal will kick off the new year with a string of engagements, with her first one being the Oxford Farming Conference just five days into the New Year.©BANG Showbiz - 8/11
A bad year for the royals?
As if 2022 hadn't been difficult enough for the royals what with Megxit and the Queen's passing, a psychic known as Nicolas Aujula - who predicted the Notre-Dame fire as well as Harry and Meghan's explosive Oprah interview - has forecast another tough year for the family with a loss of income and concerns for King Charles' health. He said: "I think the royal family's income and popularity will go down. "So they may sell their properties, or they may turn something into a hotel, or they will have to diversify. "I also think that King Charles will be having health issues. Maybe it has to do with his heart or with circulation."©BANG Showbiz - 9/11
A slimmed down monarchy
The next year could see a slimming down of the royal family, meaning that the Queen's youngest son will not inherit the title of Duke of Edinburgh from his father Prince Philip as initially planned. A source said: "The King wants to slim down the monarchy [so] it wouldn't make sense to make the Earl the Duke of Edinburgh."(C) BANG Showbiz - 10/11
Queen Camilla's historic crowning
Camila - who has been married to King Charles since 2005 - is set to make history at next year's coronation as she becomes the first spouse of a monarch to be crowned in almost 100 years. The last Queen Consort to be crowned was Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother in 1936. When Queen Elizabeth took on the title of monarch in 1952, her husband Prince Philip did not receive a crowning ceremony nor was he known as King consort because the the title of King is only given to a monarch who inherits the throne and can reign.©BANG Showbiz - 11/11
No third baby for Harry and Meghan
Despite several deals with Netflix and Spotify to keep them busy until 2023, one thing that is not on the cards for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex is a third baby. The pair already have son Archie, three, and 18-month-old Lilibet together but do not want another baby because they are conscious of the impact having a large family can have on the environment. Harry said: "I think, weirdly, because of the people that I’ve met and the places that I’ve been fortunate enough to go to, I’ve always had a connection and a love for nature. I view it differently now, without question. But I’ve always wanted to try and ensure that, even before having a child and hoping to have children…"©BANG Showbiz
