If the NBA wants to have a complete season, it’s lunacy not to go back to a bubble.
Last December, when Ellie Goulding accepted the Variety’s Decade award at our annual Hitmakers event, she noted — more out of curiosity than bitterness — that for all the commercial and critical success in her decade-plus-long career, particularly in her native U.K., she has had little recognition from the industry’s biggest awards. "I haven't really […]
Emotional support animals have been banned from US airlines after customers started to bring unusual pets on board, authorities have said. Airlines argued that passengers abused the system by bringing a menagerie of animals on board under the guise of "emotional support" including cats, turtles, pot-bellied pigs and, in one case, a peacock. The Transportation Department issued a final rule Wednesday covering animals on airlines.

"That day, those nurses prayed," Thomas, who has worked at Excela Westmoreland Hospital for nine years, told ABC News Pittsburgh affiliate WTAE. After three months of deadlocked talks, the Taliban and the Afghan government have made a breakthrough in peace negotiations, the two sides announced Wednesday, although that incremental progress is still challenged by a long road ahead and high levels of violence on the ground. Despite the slow movement of talks so far, President Donald Trump is drawing down U.S. troops to 2,500 before President-elect Joe Biden is sworn in next month. In the face of a repeated U.S. commitment to a "conditions-based" withdrawal, their exit now comes as the top U.S. military chief says the U.S. has achieved "a modicum of success" in Afghanistan after nearly 20 years of fighting.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta says he and technical director Edu are making plans for the January transfer window ahead of what could be an “unpredictable” market. Arsenal have a tally of of 13 points and that is their lowest after their opening 10 matches of any league campaign since the 1981/82 season.
Anthony Lynn and the Los Angeles Chargers have some things to play for during their last five games, but the postseason isn't one of them. Lynn publicly acknowledged Wednesday what many already knew — it would take a miracle for his team to make the postseason even if the Chargers win their remaining games to finish 8-8. “I will always want to show them the big picture every once in a while,” Lynn said.
Baker Mayfield made some head-scratching, jaw-dropping mistakes Sunday in Jacksonville, turning what should have been a fairly routine win for the Browns into a nail biter. Despite his errors, Mayfield didn't commit a quarterback's biggest sin: an interception. Mayfield, whose 21 interceptions were the second most in the NFL last season, hasn't thrown a pick since Oct. 25 — a span of almost five games and 123 consecutive passes.

Harry Maguire lamented the fortune which fell the way of Paris Saint-Germain in the final third on Wednesday night, suggesting the French side benefited from “fine margins” on the night as they beat Manchester United 3-1 at Old Trafford. The result leaves both clubs tied on nine points in their Champions League group along with RB Leipzig, who United face away from home on the final matchday next week, with the Red Devils needing a point to guarantee passage to the knock-outs. Maguire felt United had their own chances to win, with Edinson Cavani striking the crossbar and Anthony Martial missing a great chance from close range, and the captain urged his team to “take the positives” ahead of a big week which sees the Old Trafford club play away to West Ham on Saturday before the midweek trip to Germany.
