A hotel exclusively for houseplants has reopened in London, offering a lifeline to 'plant parents' who are worried about leaving their botanicals to wither during the summer holidays.

If, like us, you're worried about how your indoor plants will survive while you're away on a staycation or holiday this year, then fear not because the Patch Plant Hotel – the brainchild of online plant shop Patch – is here to keep your plants alive and healthy.

The '5-star all inclusive' botanicals-only hotel is free to book and even vegan (plant) food and drinks (water) are on the house.

The Patch Plant Hotel first launched in 2019 in Battersea and it was a pretty genius idea from the plant experts. For 2021, the plant hotel has relocated to North London and now has double the capacity it did in 2019, plus a brand new feature – the plant-quality spa.

The London hotel is now open for bookings until 5th September 2021 and there are 200 exclusive 'suites' up for grabs to accommodate your beloved leafy plants.

The new facilities mean that the hotel's experienced plant spa technicians can help your plants beat the heat with hand-powered misting and deep tissue drenching. The hotel can accommodate for sun-seekers like the cactus, through to shade-lovers like the snake plant, and will ensure the leafy residents stay hydrated and loved whilst you enjoy a guilt-free, carefree break. When you return from your holiday, your plants will check-out in tip-top shape.

'It's hard to relax on holiday if you're worrying about how your plants are getting on at home,' says Freddie Blackett, CEO at Patch. 'There's nothing worse than leaving a flourishing jungle and returning to a plant graveyard.

'We wanted to open the hotel to give a helping hand to the increasing number of "plant parents", and a well deserved treat to their favourite lockdown companions. It's best to book in as soon as possible; we booked out within two days of the grand opening last time!'

Unsurprisingly, houseplant sales have boomed during lockdown. Patch delivered over half a million plants in the UK in the past year, with indoor plant sales for Patch increasing by 400 per cent.
