London Fashion Week SS17: How To Get Involved Without An Invite

It’s T minus three weeks until London Fashion Week hits the streets of Soho. That means lots of models, lots of photographers and a whole host of star-studded parties.

Don’t want to miss out? We’ve got you covered. While it’s nigh on impossible to bag show invites unless you work in the industry, there are still plenty of ways you can get involved in the action.

Brewer Street Car Park

For the braver souls out there, head directly to Brewer Street Car Park. The relatively new home of LFW will be teeming with street stylers, photographers and more industry insiders than you can snap a selfie with. Dress to impress and you could end up being featured in one of our very own galleries. One word of warning: watch the road.

Show Streams

Last season saw the British Fashion Council embark on a live stream spree across the country. With shows streaming in 60 outdoor locations, you don’t even have to be in the capital for this one.

Although details haven’t been confirmed, it’s looking likely that the same will happen this time round. And if you don’t even fancy getting out of bed, check out LFW’s streaming schedule for the shows you can watch at home.

Make-Up Masterclass

Dior is known for its incredible make-up artistry. And with Bella Hadid as the house’s new beauty face, who wouldn’t want to learn some tips ‘n’ tricks? Well, you’re in luck.

On 19 September, Dior’s very own International Make-Up Artist, Jamie Coombes, will be teaching a masterclass, showing you how to create catwalk looks as well as a more everyday routine. Tickets cost £30 which will guarantee you a luxury Dior treat to take home along with canapés and a complimentary Bellini.

Regent Street

As usual, Regent Street is getting in on the LFW action. A full timetable of events hasn’t yet been released but there’ll be talks from figures including Henry Holland and Amanda Wakeley, an opportunity to be sketched by a renowned fashion illustrator and the chance to have your items customised by an emerging designer.

Head here closer to the date for all the info.

Burberry’s Inside View

Fashion behemoth Burberry is having a mammoth change this season. With a see-now, buy-now collection and an already released campaign, the label is also swapping its usual Kensington show location for Soho.

Makers House, located on Manette Street, will be open to the public from 21-27 September, showcasing artwork inspired by Burberry’s SS17 collection. There’ll be a full programme of activities so keep your eyes peeled for further details.

Featuring pop-up shops from over 150 brands and catwalk shows from the likes of Preen and knitwear supremes SIBLING, you’ll be rushed off your feet all day long.

And for any career advice, head to one of the event’s many talks hosted by some of the industry’s best including accessories designer Sophia Webster and make-up artist Neil Young (who’ll also give you tips on achieving that glowing supermodel skin).
