Following news that Ricky Martin had allegedly been involved in a sexual relationship with his nephew, the Livin' La Vida Loca singer will reportedly testify against him in court (via videolink) today.

According to a close source, who spoke to TMZ, Martin will appear virtually in court on 22 July to deny claims that he had sexual relations with his 21-year-old nephew. The insider says that Martin will "directly address the judge and vigorously deny he had any romantic/sexual relationship with the nephew who has claimed such a relationship went on for seven months."

To recap, earlier this month the 50-year-old singer was served with a restraining order that cited domestic abuse – although his representatives shut the allegation down, saying "[this is] completely false and fabricated."

Initially, it was unclear who had petitioned the restraining order against Martin, but a report from El Vocero alleged it had come from someone he had been involved with on a romantic level. "The parties were related for seven months. They separated two months ago, but the petitioner does not accept the separation," the report said.

"[Ricky] calls him frequently. In addition, the petitioner has seen him hanging around his residence on at least three occasions," the report added of the restraining order. "The petitioner fears for his safety."

Since the restraining order was issued, Martin's brother took to Facebook (via TMZ) to claim the petitioner is the singer's nephew – although Martin has continued to deny the accusations made against him.

In response to the claims the 50-year-old's lawyer, Martin Singer, told Variety: "Ricky Martin has, of course, never been — and would never be — involved in any kind of sexual or romantic relationship with his nephew."

Singer went on: "The idea is not only untrue, it is disgusting. We all hope that this man gets the help he so urgently needs. But, most of all, we look forward to this awful case being dismissed as soon as a judge gets to look at the facts."

As well as the restraining order that has been petitioned against him, Martin is currently facing a lawsuit filed by his former manager, Rebecca Drucke, who is suing him for $3 million over claims of unpaid commissions. He has not publicly responded to Drucke's allegation.
