Little Mix just revealed their one big career regret

After announcing their plans to take a break (but not break up!) next year, Little Mix have also shared their biggest regret from their time in the spotlight – with the revelation coming as part of a new documentary, At Home, about the singers.

Currently the group is made up of Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Perrie Edwards and Jade Thirlwall, with Jesy Nelson having previously left the group to focus on her wellbeing and pursue a solo career.

In the first part of At Home, which just dropped on YouTube, Leigh-Anne shares that despite having a lot of global success, she regrets that the band never broke America – something notoriously difficult for British artists to do.

"Internationally, It could have been a lot bigger than what it was," she says. "And it was amazing and like, we've got to travel the world, but I wish we’d spent more time doing that."

Jade then adds, "I think it’s important not to let things get to you. I think for a long time, I definitely had a sort of harbouring… not resentment, but a sort of upset that we didn’t stick to America more and properly do it. Because I think we were so close each time we went and then the more we kept leaving, the less the hype happened."

She then continued on to say, "And so I feel like if there was one thing in the career that I would wish we’d done more of, it was being in America… But I know I feel good knowing that everything we could have done happened."

Jade also suggests that had the band had different management in place at the time then they might have been successful in their pursuit of cracking the good old US of A.

"[I] can’t say too much [but] I feel like if we’d had the right people at the time, it might have happened... and there’s been other things along the way, like everyone would in any career, your career choices where you think, 'Oh, maybe I shouldn't have done that. If I hadn’t done that this might have happened'."

However, she points out that she's in a good place with it all now, having adopted the mindset that everything's a lesson and "whatever is meant to happen will happen".

All the more reason to come back after that hiatus next year then, hey?
