Alongside Tiger King and Love Is Blind, one of the TV shows we absolutely devoured in lockdown was Little Fires Everywhere, which recently came to Amazon Prime.

A bestselling novel adapted by Reese Witherspoon's production company, it was an undoubted hit, thanks to the tense storylines and incredible performances. One in particular that stood out was Lexi Underwood's - a relative newcomer, who, aged 16, carried the show.

In a recent interview with Cosmopolitan UK, the star opened up about what it was like to work with Reese and Kerry Washington, who played her on-screen mum, as well as revealing her Little Fires Everywhere audition story.

"Kerry and Reese are both so incredibly down to earth," she revealed. "They're so humble. All round phenomenal people. Their work ethic - they're so inspiring. I've learned so much from all the different experiences I've been blessed to have. But honestly, being on the Little Fires Everywhere set was so incredible seeing two strong women at the helm of an incredibly complex story. It was so inspiring."

Lexi also went on to dish on what happened in her audition. "The best piece of life advice I've ever been given is to not take every no to heart - especially with my Little Fires Everywhere audition story. It opened my eyes - just because one door closes, doesn't mean another one isn't going to open."

Discussing what happened in her first meeting, Lexi continued, "I was going to quit acting the day before my audition. I had to do three scenes - the scene with the guidance counsellor on the first day of school. The second scene was when I was coming home with my homecoming dress. And the third scene was one with Moody.

"I only had two auditions. But if I had quit right before, I wouldn't be here right now."

Wow. Could you even imagine? We're so glad Lexi didn't quit - and are probably going to watch Little Fires Everywhere again asap.
